Explanation of the types and characteristics of heat-resistant plastic materials.

This article explains the types and characteristics of heat-resistant plastic materials.

High-heat-resistant plastics are materials that possess characteristics suitable for use in high-temperature environments. These plastics generally have high melting points, excellent heat resistance, and chemical stability. ■ Polyimide (PI) Polyimide has very high heat resistance and can be used in environments up to 300°C. It is utilized in electronics, aerospace, and the automotive industry, particularly in situations where durability under high-temperature conditions and harsh environments is required. ■ Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) With a high heat resistance of 260°C, PEEK also offers chemical resistance and wear resistance, making it suitable for use in aerospace, medical, and energy industries. ■ Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) PPS has high heat resistance and chemical resistance at 220°C and is used in the automotive industry, electronics, and industrial machinery. Fiber-reinforced types of PPS also have high wear resistance, making them suitable for mechanical parts. ■ Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) PTFE has high heat resistance of 260°C, exhibits self-lubricating and non-stick properties, and has high chemical resistance, making it chemically stable. It is used in semiconductors, chemicals, medical applications, aerospace, and the automotive industry.

Basic Knowledge of Resin: What is Heat-Resistant Plastic?

Don't you think plastic is weak to heat? Each type has different heat resistance and properties!

Many people may have the impression that plastic products are weak to heat, but in fact, there are many plastic materials that are heat-resistant. Basically, general-purpose plastics, engineering plastics, and super engineering plastics are categorized based on their mechanical properties and heat resistance, with materials like PEEK being well-known as heat-resistant materials. This article explains the heat resistance of plastic materials. Please take a moment to read it.
